CAMELOT VALUES

We wish to grow in Christ’s love:

As a Worshipper

Worship does not simply mean public worship services or personal devotional prayer but the whole of our lives as they are offered up to God.  The quality of our work and of our relationships are just as important (if not more so) in growing as a Worshipper as those elements of life that we usually call ‘spiritual’.

As a Servant

To be a servant was right at the heart of Jesus’ humanity and calling.  So we too seek to express this servant heart to others, whether by helping them in their journey of faith or by serving them in practical ways.

As a Family

We wish as a church to grow as a family where people feel a deep sense of belonging and can form lasting friendships and relationships which encourage and sustain them.

Perhaps another way of putting these aims is in terms of responding to Jesus’ great commandments:-

  1. ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 (Mark 12:30 referring to Deuteronomy 6:5)
  2. ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’  (Mark 12:31 referring to Leviticus 19:18)
  3. ‘Love one another as I (Jesus) have loved you.’  (John 15:12)

We are part of the Diocese of Bath and Wells in the Church of England and so we are also committed to the Diocesan strategy of seeking to be ‘God’s people living and telling the story of Jesus’.  For more on the Diocesan strategy please visit the Diocesan website.
